Ikendu, ein Flüchtling aus Mali, lernt in Bellinzona Patricia kennen, die in einer Fahrradwerkstatt arbeitet und alleinerziehende Mutter von zwei Töchtern ist. Die beiden werden ein Paar, heiraten und verbringen eine unbeschwerte Zeit, bis Ikendu eines Tages verhaftet und von mitangeschuldigten Afrikanern als Drogendealer belastet wird. Die Verhaftung erschüttert die Beziehung und bringt Dinge ans Tageslicht, die keiner vom anderen wusste.
