Un film italiano Fuori Concorso, adesso, "Giochi d'estate", realizzato da un autore, Rolando Colla, poco conosciuto qui da noi perché la sua attività l'ha svolta di prevalenza in Svizzera, dov'è nato e dove ha avuto i contatti più frequenti con le istituzioni culturali e cinematografiche della Confederazione Elvetica. Un incontro felice. All'insegna della semplicità e della verità, espresse con modi lineari nell'ambito di una storia che, ambientata in Toscana fra campagna e mare, propone soprattutto due coppie, una di adulti, un marito violento legato a una moglie sempre sul punto di lasciarlo, l'altra di dodicenni, un ragazzino tutto attese e curiosità e una ragazza, lì per passare una vacanza con la madre cui rimprovera di averle sempre taciuto la sorte tragica del padre. Attorno agli adulti e altri ragazzi, proposti non tanto per fare cornice, ma perché accompagnassero da vicino i casi delle due coppie studiati ciascuno con minuzie sottili sia nelle situazioni che li coinvolgono sia nelle reazioni che provocano. Con attenti equilibri narrativi tutti ritmi distesi affidati a cifre spesso intimamente evocatrici grazie anche ad immagini che privilegiano la natura e le facce, sempre con accenti limpidi e tesi. La recitazione, anche nei ragazzi, tutti esordienti, é in ognuno accurata, ma anche spontanea. Con segni nitidi.
